Dr. Dan Jordan, DBA, CPA, ABV, CVA, CFF

Before returning to sole practitioner status in December, 2008, Dr. Jordan was  a partner of Jordan & Decker, LLP, for over 20 years. Prior to that, Dr. Jordan was an audit partner of a large local CPA firm in Oakland,  California.  He was also in charge of the management consulting division of that firm.  Dr. Jordan previously served as controller or chief financial officer for several firms in the insurance industry.  Prior to that time, he was a senior auditor with a "Big 8" national public accounting firm.


Dr. Jordan graduated "cum laude" from CaliforniaStateUniversity, Sacramento in 1971 and received an MBA degree from University of California, Berkeley in 1977.  He earned a Doctor of Business Administration Degree from Golden GateUniversity in 2004.  He received his CPA certificate in 1973.  In 1996, he earned a Certified Valuation Analyst designation from the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts and in 1998, he became Accredited in Business Valuation by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. His latest designation, Certified in Financial Forensics, was granted by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 2008.


Dr. Jordan is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the California Society of CPAs, and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, and has been a member of Financial Management Association, the American Management Association, the Institute of Business Appraisers, the American Accounting Association and the National Association of Accountants.  He has served on the Accounting Principles and Auditing Standards Committee of the East Bay Chapter of the California Society of CPA's, the state level Committee on Members' Insurance Plans, and as Vice President of Membership in the East Bay Chapter of the National Association of Accountants.  He is a Past Chairman of the Administrative Committee of the Group Insurance Trust of the California Society of CPAs. He currently serves on the Accounting Education Committee of the California Society of CPAs and on the Board of Directors of four local corporations.He has been biographed in Who's Who in Finance and Industry, Who's Who in California and Who's Who in the West.  He was on the faculty of Golden GateUniversity from 1999 to 2007, earning the Teacher of the Year Award in 2006. In 2007, he joined the faculty of DominicanUniversity of California where he teaches undergraduate accounting subjects.
