In November, 2008, the Institute For Financial Planning Education elected Dr. Dan Jordan to its Board of Directors. At that time he was also appointed Treasurer of the Institute. The Institute For Financial Planning Education is a 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to developing and providing financial planning educational material to the public.

In July, 2008, the California Society of Certified Public Accountants re-appointed Dr. Dan Jordan to its State Committee on Accounting Education. The mission of the California Society of CPAs is "To increase the value and promote the integrity of the CPA profession, contribute to the success of our members and strengthen client, employer, public and government trust in CalCPA member's advice, work products and opinions."

In January, 2007, the Marin County Library Foundation elected Dr. Dan Jordan to its Board of Directors. He was elected Treasurer in July, 2007 and re-elected in July, 2008. The Library Foundation is a 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to supporting the Marin County Library and its 9 Marin County Branches.
